New Brand OC Tennis

Sunsetting WR Tennis as we move into 2022

A lot has changed since I started Wyatt Russell Tennis in 2016. We started off with one location teaching a couple hours a week in Laguna Hills. We quickly added a second location in Costa Mesa that same year. Fast forward to today we teach well over 150 different kids and adults in our group tennis classes each month. As we look to expand in 2022 we decided it was time to update the branding to something more universal and to align with our other brand OC Pickleball Club. We’re keeping the look of the logo the same so it’s still recognizable

So What’s Changing?

  • Unifying Instruction

  • Progress Reports: For Elites and all 11 and Under Programs (starting in Costa Mesa in February 2022)

  • Optimum Progression: New practice guides and resources for kids and parents.

  • Online Registration Update: A much more friendly online experience for class registration and account management (Costa Mesa)

Unifying Instruction

One of the biggest changes we are focusing on is unifying our instruction so that no matter who the coach is you’re getting a similar lesson with a similar focus on developing sound fundamentals in a fun learning environment.

Progress Reports

In February 2022 we will launch our new report card system for participants enrolled in monthly classes (beginning in Costa Mesa). We’re starting with our most popular classes:

  • Future Stars

  • Rising Stars

  • Tennis Stars

  • All Stars

  • Elites

Parents of participants in these classes will receive a report card every month that looks like this:

In the report card 3 filled tennis balls indicates skill proficiency has been mastered. You’ll also find the child’s homework and recommended practice regimen.

Optimum Progression

We’ve posted a guide that we’ll be adding to over time. You can browse it right now to find out our recommendations for optimum progression based on the class your child is in.

Online Registration System (Costa Mesa Only)

As many of you may know we took a stab at recurring billing/enrollment this past fall. We did this because many of our classes were full and we wanted a way for our repeat customers (which 85% of your are) to be re-enrolled each month automatically. A lot of did not like having to fill out the same form every month.

It was supposed to be easy for everyone, but unfortunately it created more problems than you could imagine and I’m sure you felt some of them.

We are continuing with monthly recurring enrollment, but we’ve moved all of your information over to a much more steady and reliable system that we extensively tested. Everything is embedded right on the site so you don’t have to leave to access your account. Now you have more tools inside your account. You can easily see your enrollments and you can cancel your enrollments at any time. You can also add an extra class.

We will also be sending out reminder emails about upcoming payments on the 28th of each month. Recurring charges are now done on the 1st of each month.

Your first month is automatically prorated if you sign up for something in the middle of the month.

For those of you that aren’t able to commit to a whole month we have a much easier way to sign up for drop ins. It’s also done right on the site and you don’t have to create an account.

We’ll be following up with more information about the new system as we roll it out.

What’s staying the same?

Classes. The same class names, days, and times. Our private lesson scheduler is also staying exactly the same.
